Jean has participated in many of the finest invitational art shows around the country, including several museum shows. Two of her pieces are in the permanent collection of the Nevada Museum of Art. Her work has been featured in several national publications, including “Southwest Art” and “Plein-Air” Magazines. She was recently filmed painting in Alaska for the six-part PBS special “Plein-Air: Painting the American Landscape.”
Jean now lives in the small, historic town of Silver City in northern Nevada.
“My goal while doing ‘en plein-air’ work is to record my immediate and spontaneous response to the scene. I want someone to see and feel what I felt at that particular time, to convey to others my experience and love for a place. If I come even close to this goal, I feel I have accomplished something of worth.”
Currently, there are 8 paintings by Jean LeGassick on display at Renown Regional Medical Center.
