One of the ways that people in Reno-Tahoe can stay motivated is to find new places to get in their exercise. As part of her Exercise is Medicine series, Wendy Damonte gathered together some Renown Health physicians and some lawyers from the McDonald-Carano firm to try out Dry Pond Loop.
Exercise is Medicine: Hiking or Biking in Galena
Carved into the wooded areas of Galena south of Reno, Dry Pond Loop is 6.5 miles and has beautiful scenic views to enjoy while you ride your mountain bikes or take a jog or run through the trail. As the video on this page shows, our group of professionals really got their hearts pumping and some adrenaline going while at Dry Pond Loop – it truly proved that Exercise is Medicine!
Directions and a Ride on Dry Pond Loop
Here’s how to find Dry Pond Loop: Take Mt. Rose Highway up to Timberline Drive. Turn right on Timberline. The trail is found at the first left turn from Timberline. Go through the gates. The road dead-ends in the parking lot.
UPDATE: The Dry Pond Loop group ride scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 7, has been canceled due to poor expected air quality.
