Renown is a proud supporter of Bike Washoe’s Bike to Work Week activities May 14-18. Join two of Renown’s leaders for a ride to work on this special day.
National Bike to Work Week is May 14-18, and Renown has a lot to share about this important community event. Biking to work is easier than ever with more bike routes throughout the city. It’s also a healthy, sustainable and economic way to get to the office, helping not only the environment but also helping with your own personal health.
To help support this community effort, Wendy Damonte, vice president of Advocacy and Community Partnership, and Bethany Sexton, vice president and administrator of the Department of Medicine, went biking on a typical route they would take to their offices. It’s a fun, informative video that we hope will encourage you to take the plunge on Bike to Work Week.
It’s also the first in a series of “exercise is medicine” stories that feature Damonte, to be on BestMedicine in the coming weeks.
Join Us for a Group Bike-to-Week Ride
Inspired by their video, Damonte and Sexton are now hosting a ride for the community during Bike To Work Week. The ride will take place Thursday, May 17, at 7 a.m. on the northeast corner of Longley Lane and McCarran Boulevard (near the Fitness Connection parking lot).
The group will ride from that spot to downtown Reno, going north on McCarran and also taking in the Truckee River bike path. Come join us for a bike ride!
