Christmas in July: Bringing Cheer to Kids at Renown Children’s Hospital

Hop on your motorcycle and put your best friend in the sidecar, it’s time for the annual Christmas in July Toy Run to bring year-round cheer to Renown’s youngest patients.

If you see a motorcycle-riding Santa in July, don’t worry about getting your sight checked. The Ole Tyme Saloon is hosting its fifth annual Christmas in July Toy Run benefiting kids at Renown Children’s Hospital July 8. This annual fundraiser is all about bringing smiles to children who need special care all year long, not just the holidays.

The Toy Run is open to all motorcycles and vehicles. Participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy and can register at Ole Tyme Saloon (1505 Geiger Grade) Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon for $20. Cost includes T-shirt for the first 75 riders. All money raised benefits Renown Children’s Hospital.

Once everyone is signed up, the group hits the road and rides to Renown Children’s Hospital where Santa will hand out unwrapped toys and games to patients — giving them their own Christmas in July and allowing the children to relax and focus on just being kids.

After the Toy Run, all participants will head back to the Ole Tyme Saloon for a spaghetti feed, a raffle and live entertainment.
