U.S. Airports Installing Suites for Breastfeeding Moms

Airports have moved another step closer to becoming more baby and breastfeeding friendly.

Seventh Generation, a Vermont company, has sponsored the installation of the pumping and nursing pods in a handful of airports across the country, such as New York, Milwaukee and Vermont to name a few. There are plans to expand the program in the near future.

The pods or nursing suites are 4-foot-by-8-foot spaces, equipped with two benches and an electrical outlet. The doors shut and the rooms are big enough to fit a family of four, plus luggage.

The pods are made by the company Mamava. Moms can find the locations by downloading Mamava’s app, currently available through Apple and planned for Android by July.
