It can be a challenge to come up with kid-friendly activities on the fly. To help, here’s some of our favorite family outings and activities. 

Here are five of our favorite kid-friendly spots around northern Nevada.

1) National Automobile Museum

  • Monday thru Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Admission:

  • $12 for adults (18+)
  • $6 for seniors (6-17)
  • Free for children ages 5 and under

2) Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Admission:

  • $11 for adults
  • $10for seniors (62+)
  • $7.50 for children (3-12)
  • Free for children ages 2 and under

3)  W.M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum at the University of Nevada, Reno

  • Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • First Saturday of each month noon to 4 p.m.

4) Sierra Safari Zoo

  • Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weather permitting)

5) Sparks Museum and Cultural Center

  • Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
