Moms Hail Target’s New Breastfeeding Policy

Target is feeling the love from breastfeeding moms! The retail giant’s breastfeeding-friendly policy recently surfaced on Facebook and is being shared around the world.

Moms Hail Target for Breastfeeding PolicyHere’s the store’s breastfeeding-friendly policy:

Guests may openly breastfeed in our stores or ask where they can go to breastfeed their child. When this happens, remember these points:

  • Target’s policy supports breastfeeding in any area of our stores, including our fitting rooms, even if others are waiting
  • If you see a guest breastfeeding in our stores, do not approach her
  • If she approaches and asks you for a location to breastfeed, offer the fitting room (do not offer the restroom as an option)

What do you think of Target’s policy?  Do you have an experience to share?

  1. After a long day of shopping this weekend, I found myself in Dillards (at the Summit) needing to breastfeed. I dragged my 9 month old daughter, my ergo, my purse and the diaper bag into the restroom, planning to feed her from the ergo while standing. Imagine my relief when I see two nice armchairs to sit in instead! I applaud these retailers such as Target and Dillards for supporting nursing moms.
