He also became the first little miracle of the New Year. Congratulations, mom and dad!

Killen Bell, a registered nurse on Labor & Delivery at Renown Regional, says her past experiences working the night shift on New Year’s Eve was exciting.

“New Year’s eve night was always a very fun night to work if you have to work night shift because you are waiting for that first baby of the new year to be delivered,” Killen says. “We love having our deliveries up here anyway, it’s the best position ever, but when the New Year’s baby comes it’s even more special.”

In 2014, approximately 4,063 babies were born at Renown Children’s Hospital. The busiest day of the year was July 28, 2014, wherein Renown delivered 23 babies.

Jonathan ushered in New Year’s Day with eight other newborns.
