Renown Health President and CEO, Tony Slonim, M.D., Dr.PH., FACHE, reflects on the important role volunteers play in Renown Health’s ability to provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare.
At Renown Health, we strive every day to make a difference in the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve. Our volunteers play a vital role in helping us fulfill this mission. At the same time, they help us create a welcoming, helpful and healing environment.
We are fortunate to work with a dedicated team who share their time and talent with our patients and visitors. Renown volunteers come from all walks of life — from students who are considering a career in healthcare to older adults who simply want to make a difference. Together, they contributed more than 50,000 hours of service in 2017.
Volunteers Are the Heart of Renown
From providing a warm welcome to visitors to assisting with the discharge process, volunteers are present in just about every stage of care at Renown. They assist with meal time and ease stress with board games or pet therapy visits. They also provide administrative assistance to our clinical team, allowing staff to devote more time to delivering specialized medical care. Our patients, leaders, employees, visitors and physicians are so appreciative of the people who dedicate their time to caring for others.
With this in mind, if you are looking for an opportunity to serve others in your community, consider volunteering at Renown Health. Click here to learn more.
