Representatives of the Healthy Nevada Project, including Renown Health, presented its groundbreaking population health survey at a recent biotech convention.
Among the thousands of participants at the 2017 BIO International Convention in San Diego were representatives of the Healthy Nevada Project. Renown Health is partnering with the State of Nevada, the Desert Research Institute and 23andMe on the project, which is the first population study in the world using DNA, environmental research and clinical information to find patterns of disease in Nevada.
“We’re here at BIO to share with the world the Healthy Nevada Project — how we are integrating genetic, clinical, social and environmental data into a world-class data base to make Nevadans healthier,” said Anthony Slonim, MD, DrPH, Renown Health president and CEO. “People around the world are really interested in this and they want to learn what we are doing, so they can do it where they live.”
