She Had Given Him Unconditional Care All Her Life. At The End, He Wanted Unconditional Care For Her.
This is Ben’s story. “Your mother’s had a major stroke.” The doctor’s words were devastating. Within a week it was clear she wasn’t going to recover. It was also clear to Ben that hospice care with Renown Health was the best option. As Ben remembers: “I was losing her and what I was trying to do was make her comfortable. The care she got at Renown was incredible. The nurses were attentive and concerned. And even after they went off shift, they would ask how she was doing.”

Easing End-of-Life Decisions
It’s not easy to discuss how we would want to be cared for at the end of our lives. Having these conversations and decisions early can reduce anxiety and simplify decisions for our friends and family down the road.
By completing and submitting a notarized Advance Directive form, you can indicate what medical treatment you want to receive in the event you become physically or mentally unable to communicate your wishes.
Renown Health’s award-winning Advance Directive Workshop series provides a safe space to fill out this important document and learn why doing so is important for you and your family.
