Renown Health has learned scammers posing as Renown business office employees are calling patients attempting to collect personal information including credit card information. We urge everyone to be cautious if you receive one of these calls or any call from someone requesting your credit card or social security number. Renown has reported this to the local authorities and wants to make sure everyone in our community knows how to protect themselves.
How to spot a fraudulent call:
- Scammers demand payment immediately. Authentic Renown employees do not demand immediate payment.
- Scammers ask for full social security numbers. Authentic Renown billing employees only ask for the last four digits of your social security number.
As a safety precaution when sharing personal information or making a payment, you are always welcome to call our business office directly at 775-982-4130 to ensure you are reaching an authentic Renown employee. As an added convenience, we also offer secure bill pay and live chat with a billing representative at renown.org/onlinepayment. You can also find a link on our homepage at Renown.org.
If you are concerned you may have already received a call from a scammer posing as a Renown employee, you can call the Renown business office at 775-982-4130 for assistance.
