In recent weeks, Renown President and CEO Tony Slonim, MD, DrPH, was honored by regional and national organizations for leading Renown’s commitment to the communities we serve.
Nominated for “leading the charge to improve the long-term physical and emotional health of the community,” Renown President and CEO Tony Slonim, MD, DrPH, was recently honored for his commitment to the community along with his leadership and clinical expertise.
Under Dr. Slonim’s leadership, Renown Health has welcomed numerous community partnerships and strategic collaborations. Most recently, he led Renown’s landmark affiliations with DRI and 23andMe, Stanford Medicine, the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, and St. George’s University, Grenada, to expand specialty and sub-specialty care available to northern Nevadans and bring more highly trained care providers to the Silver State.
Nevada Healthcare Heroes
Dr. Slonim was given the Administrator Award as part of Nevada Healthcare Heroes, an annual event that recognized the best in Nevada healthcare. Winners were selected by a panel of blue-ribbon judges in the healthcare field and are featured in the September edition of Nevada Business Magazine. Dr. Slonim was honored along with Renown team member Valerie Luevano, director of social justice, Child Health Institute, who was given the Humanitarian Award.
110 Physician Leaders to Know
In addition, Dr. Slonim was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “110 Physician Leaders to Know” list for the third year in a row. Each year, Becker’s recognizes physician leaders who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and clinical expertise throughout their careers, leading initiatives to improve their individual organizations and the healthcare of the communities they serve. Dr. Slonim was honored alongside innovative leaders from world-class organizations like Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
