Renown Health President and CEO Tony Slonim, MD, DrPH, was honored for enriching the lives of people living with MS in northern Nevada.

Renown Health President and CEO Tony Slonim, MD, DrPH, was honored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Aug. 28 for his work and philanthropy with the Nevada Office of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Slonim was recognized at the society’s annual Dinner of Champions, where he received the MS Hope Award.

The MS Hope Award is the highest award presented by the Society for community and humanitarian efforts. It is given to those who strive to improve the quality of life today and create a better world tomorrow.

Dr. Slonim accepted the award on behalf of his father, who has MS, which is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body.

“One of the best things we can give people and their families who live with MS is hope,” Dr. Slonim said.
