In between choosing a name and deciding who will be your child’s pediatrician, it’s also important to think about how you will run errands and travel with your baby in the car. If your a first-time parent, or you want to make sure you’re properly installing your child in their seat, our Child Passenger Safety Coordinator weighs in on what you should know.
Did you know two out of every three child car seats are installed the wrong way?
Be sure your child is safe and have their car seat inspected and/or installed by a certified professional at Renown Children’s Hospital’s Car Seat Safety Station. Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent.
“It still hasn’t gotten to the point where people can just go in and buy one of these and go set it in their car and walk away from it. They still have trouble trying to figure out how to attach it,” says John Carl, Child Passenger Safety Coordinator.
