The 36 Hours for Kids Radiothon will broadcast live Feb. 23-24 on Alice 96.5 to benefit children with complex medical conditions who rely on Renown’s Children’s Hospital for care.
Think back to when you were a kid. Were you always out riding your bike? Or maybe you were playing video games with friends or playing tag at the playground? These are the kinds of activities that many of our youngest patients often miss. Support them in getting better and getting back to their childhood by participating in one of these upcoming events to support Renown’s Children’s Hospital, northern Nevada’s Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
36 Hours For Kids Radiothon Feb. 23-24
The 36 Hours for Kids Radiothon is Feb. 23-24 in partnership with Reno Media Group. Local radio stars Bill, Connie and RJ of Alice 96.5 will commit 36 hours of air time between music to ask for support of Renown Children’s Hospital. The radio program will include interviews with children’s hospital doctors, nurses and inspiring patients like Victoria, whose wish was recently granted to go to London.
Last year’s event fulfilled a wish list of items for the children’s hospital, including a new radiant infant warmer for newborns, recliners for the rooms, stacking toys and blocks, an Accuvein Vein Finder system, a playhouse and more.
During this year’s radiothon, the wish list includes three new vital sign machines, an ultrasound machine, a child-specific hospital bed, two infant warmers and iPads to entertain young patients, among other items. To donate during the drive, call 775-982-5500.
National Pancake Day: March 7
Light and fluffy and covered in butter and syrup — pancakes are the ultimate treat for kids and grownups. For a small donation, you can enjoy a free short-stack pancake breakfast at IHOP on Tuesday, March 7 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to show your support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. All proceeds benefit Renown Children’s Hospital.
Now through March 7, you can also buy a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital icon balloon at IHOP locations for $1 or more. Your donation stays local and helps kids like Tennyson, who receives treatment at Renown Children’s Hospital for an autoimmune disease.
Since 2008, IHOP restaurants in northern Nevada have partnered with Renown Children’s Hospital, donating more than 80,000 pancakes and raising more than $87,000.
